Species protection

Conservation is a very important task of Ueckermünde Zoo. Mandrills, Eurasian otters, Barbary macaques and lemurs are some examples of highly endangered species. These species are kept and bred at Ueckermünde zoo and thus the zoo helps to conserve these species. Visitors can watch these animals and become aware of the extinction. Breeding and releasing white storks into the wild is one further contribution of Ueckermünde zoo for survival of this local  species.

Furthermore Ueckermünde zoo offers rich habitats for animals, especially with its forest area, flower meadows and different ponds.
